I've been listening to my music on my iPod, sketching and posting this evening. Reminds me of my college days, well, minus the iPod. I remember the hours I spent in college listening to music, creating new characters and stories, sketching outfit designs. I don't have much to show for it. I will probably always be a mediocre artist (and that might be generous). Still, it's been great bumming around and sketching all evening, even if I'm been busy doing "grown-up" chores and attempting to be a mature adult while sketching fanart.

Hey there, thanks for the watch. Also, if you're interested in doing Quest for Glory request art, I have a ton of ideas that might appeal to you. Please let me know if you're interested and catch you later.

"It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather, we should thank God that such men lived."
Coolness, and thanks. There are a LOT here and some are simple while others are complex. I'm only asking that you look these over and see if there's at least one you want to do. Enjoy!
Quest for Glory:
So, you want to be a Hero: One of these days, I want to find out how you become a Hero by taking a correspondence course, but I digress. One idea is to draw the Hero training himself at some point prior to So You Want To Be A Hero, perhaps in swordplay or spell casting or lock picking. Another idea is to draw the Hero and Rakeesh walking to the Simbani village while Rakeesh talks about how to be a Paladin.
Travels to lands afar: One thing I enjoyed while watching the Quest for Glory playthroughs is the places you go to. Shapeir, Tarna and Silmaria in particular caught my eye. One possibility is to draw a QFG city, of your choice, from a bird's eye view. Another possibility is to draw the Hero walking through a QFG city, again of your choice, taking in the sights.
Quite the Lady Killer: Whoever said being Heroic was a lonely business didn't flirt the way the Hero does. One idea is to draw the Hero putting the moves on one, or more, of the various ladies he deals with in his Quests. These can include Elsa, Dinarzad, Zayishah, Jhanna, Johari, Katrina, the Rusalka, Nawar and/or Erana or a collage pic with the Hero flirting with several or all of them. Or, as an alternate, you can draw the Hero sharing a tender moment with his bride from after Dragon Fire, namely Elsa, Katrina, Nawar or Erana.
To be a Paladin: What else can I saw? Paladins are cool. One possibility is to draw the Hero performing some deed worthy of being a Paladin, such as giving money to the poor, returning Abdulla's magic carpet in So You Want To Be A Hero, freeing Sharaf from the dungeons of Rasier in Trial By Fire, giving food the desperate and starving Harami in Wages Of War, rescuing Igor in Shadows of Darkness or giving the Waters of Lethe to Shakra and Erasamus in Dragon Fire or a collage pic of several of them. Or, for something simpler and more to the point, you could draw Rakeesh presenting the Hero with Soulforge.
Years Gone By: One thought I have is whether or not the Hero kept on adventuring after Dragon Fire, King or otherwise, or if he settled down. Perhaps this can be answered in a pic. One variation is to draw the Hero with his bride (Elsa, Katriana, Nawar or Erana), as either the King of Silmaria or a retired adventurer, basking in the sunshine and perhaps with a few kids romping around nearby. Another variation is to draw the Hero, much older but still an adventurer, at a campsite warming his hands on the campfire after a day of monster slaying either by himself or with his bride (Elsa as Queen of Silmaria and his chief competition in heroics, Katrina, Nawar or Erana).
I've heard of 'wooden' people but this is ridiculous: Well, bad puns aside, the Dryad from So You Want To Be A Hero looked quite remarkable in the VGA remake. Perhaps you could draw her emerging from her tree to speak with the Hero. Or, perhaps you could draw her head emerging from the tree's trunk as she watches the stag and the spirea plant grown from the spore the Hero gave her.
This can't have been in the Famous Adventurer's Correspondence School's Textbooks: That was my thought in the scene during So You Want To Be A Hero when I saw the Hero dancing for the Fairies and getting turned into a frog by Baba Yaga. Either of which would make a great pic.
Toro, Toro, Ole: I was more than a little surprised when I learned that Toro and the Hero went from enemies to allies and that Toro lived through their fight. Still, their fight in So You Want To Be A Hero is good material for a pic. One idea is to draw the Hero ducking under a sweeping slash for Toro's axe and leaping in to attack. Another is to draw the Hero, overmatched and retreating, but not realizing that his red cape (from the VGA remake) is enticing Toro to chase him.
Numbers mean nothing to a Hero: One scene from So You Want To Be A Hero that I enjoyed was how the Hero managed to outmaneuver the bandits in the Brigand Stronghold. Perhaps this can be made into a pic by drawing the Hero rolling and dodging the arrows from the bandit archers. Or, you could draw the Hero dropping the mess hall's chandelier on top of the bandits.
Never turn down a challenge: When I heard the Weapon Master's exit line after the Hero beat him in So You Want To Be A Hero, my lower jaw hit the floor. Still, a pic of that fight would be nice. Another possibility is to draw the Hero locking swords with Barnard and/or Elsa.
Nature, naturally unfriendly: I myself got a bang out of how the Hero battled the Elementals in Trial By Fire. One idea is to draw the Fire Elemental being siphoned into the Hero's lamp. Another possibility is to draw the Hero pouring the Water Elemental in the fountain of Raseir to restore the city.
This town has gone to Hell: Raseir's obvious disrepair and desolation made quite the contrast to Shapeir in Trial By Fire. One way this can be drawn is through a pic of the Hero wandering through empty, decrepit plazas. Another idea is to draw the Hero looking at Ad Avis' palace, gauging how best to get in and clearly finding his prospects to be limited.
All in a Day's Work: I was rolling on the ground laughing at that scene during Trial By Fire where the caravan to Raseir comes under attack, there's the intermission screen and the Hero is shown standing atop heaps and piles of dead enemies with the slogan 'All in a Day's Work' on the screen. Drawing a recreation of that is certainly a possibility. And, another is drawing the battle itself with the Hero expertly weaving through enemy swords to strike at the desert bandits.
Deceit and Deception: I was thrown for a loop by that scene in Trial By Fire where Ad Avis managed to hypnotize the Hero into helping him get the statue of Iblis, One possibility for making this into a pic is to draw Ad Avis with his hand on the Hero's shoulder and his eyes glowing while the Hero's eyes are glassy and sightless. Another possibility is to draw the Hero handing the Iblis statue to Ad Avis but snapping out of the trance as Ad Avis grasps it.
A tyrant's downfall: The scene where Ad Avis was working to summon Iblis was a real nail biter. Perhaps this can be made into a pic by drawing the Hero bursting into the room while Ad Avis is working on his ritual. Another possibility is to draw the Hero shoulder checking Ad Avis out of the window and to the evil wizard's seeming death.
On sacred ground: Some of the questions presented by Sekhmet to the Hero in Wages of War were very pointed and none were easy to answer. One idea about how to put this to paper is to draw the Hero in the temple of Sekhmet, watching in amazement as the statue addresses him. Another is to draw the Hero, kneeling in a meditative trance upon one side of the Scales of Justice with the Feather of Truth on the other while Sekhmet's eyes look on from the background.
Initiation: I rather enjoyed the Initiation scene between the Hero and Yesufu during Wages Of War. One way this can be made into a pic is to draw the Hero and Yesufu throwing spears at the target. Another possibility is to draw the Hero helping Yesufu when he falls into the pit.
Judgments and Mistrials: I probably shouldn't have been surprised, but was, when I saw how cold and haughty most of the Liontaurs can be in Wages Of War. One idea is to draw the Hero and Rakeesh when they first stand before the Council of Judgment with the Liontaurs jeering at their vow to resolve the conflict between the Simbani and the Leopardmen. Another idea is to draw the Demon-possessed Leopardman Chief killing the Simbani Laibon while the Council looks on in shock and outrage.
Mirror, mirror: The clash between and Hero and company and their Mirrored selves at the end of Wages of War looked like quite a fight before Harami's fortuitous, but somewhat anticlimactic, intervention. Perhaps this can be made into a pic by showing the reflections of the Hero, Manu, Rasheeka, Yesufu and Johari transforming into Demons and emerging from the mirrors. Or, you could draw a collage pic of each of the companions fighting their counterparts.
This puts a whole new spin on the term 'Tree Huggers': Truth be told, the hippie mindset never translated well to me but Salim was very helpful in Wages Of War. Perhaps you could draw a post-game pic of him finding Julanar in her tree form, clearly astonished at how much this resembles his dream. Or, you could draw Salim waking up in the desert and, again to his surprise, seeing Julanar as a human smiling at him.
Rediscovering Honor: One thing I liked in Shadows of Darkness was the way Dmitri warmed up to the Hero after learning that Piotyr was a hero and a good man after all. One way this could be made into a pic is to show Dmitri presenting the Hero with Piotyr's old shield and giving the Hero's shoulder a comradely squeeze. Another idea is to draw Dmitri, now Boyar of Mordavia, hanging a portrait of Piotyr in Castle Borgov with a content expression.
Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves: I rather enjoyed the role the Gypsies played in Shadows of Darkness, though the death of Magda's voice actress in the middle of the project was a bit jarring. One idea is to draw the Hero celebrating with the Gypsies after Davy's release. Another is to draw one of the Tarot Readings the Hero has with Magda.
Precious beyond all else: Quite a few would say that of children and with good reason, the scene in Shadows of Darkness where Toby gave his life so Tanya could be human again got to me. One possibility is to draw the Hero carrying a sobbing Tanya to the Hotel Mordavia. Another possibility is to draw Tanya playing with her doll while the Hero is, quietly, warning Yuri Marakov that further attempts might be made to abduct Tanya and Yuri nods with understanding.
The Place between Worlds: I myself very much enjoyed the dream sequences in Shadows of Darkness, especially the descriptions of how the place keeps changing from paradise to hell. One way this can be drawn is in a split screen pic of the Hero sleeping fitfully either in Erana's Garden or by Erana's Staff on one side and floating cold and lifeless in a strange void on the other side. A more pleasant version would be the Hero sleeping, again either in Erana's Garden or by Erana's Staff, with a content expression on his face while an ethereal Erans runs a hand through his hair and smiles down on him.
The Dominatrix: That scene in Shadows of Darkness where Katrina was decked out in leather, holding a whip and having the Hero suspended from the ceiling by chains was just too funny. One idea is to draw Katrina drawing back her whip to strike with the Hero wearing one of those I-should-be-terrified-but-I'm-strangely-enjoying-this expressions. Another idea is to draw Katrina leaning in towards the Hero with the tips of her fangs teasing against his skin.
The Rites of Rulership: Don't you just love tournaments? I do, and the Rites of Rulership in Dragon Fire look fun. One idea is to draw the Hero, Elsa, Gort, Magnum Opus and Kokeeno hacking and slashing their way through the Mercenaries occupying the Silmarian fishing villages. If you want to plug 300, either the Hero (because he's the Hero) or Kokeeno (since he's the only Silmarian-born competitor) could scream THIS...IS...SILMARIA! Another possibility is to draw the Hero and Elsa, the latter with a torch, fighting the Hydra.
The Alumni: I did a double take when I learned that the Hero met the Famous Adventurer of the Famous Adventurer's Correspondence School in Dragon Fire, and the contrast between how the Famous Adventurer acts before and after getting the Hippocrene water was also startling. One idea is to draw the Hero meeting the Famous Adventurer before giving him the water, the Famous Adventurer looking half asleep and indifferent, while the Hero looks on puzzled and disappointed. Another idea is to draw the two after the Famous Adventurer gets the water, with the Famous Adventurer showing the Hero maps and scrolls while filling him in about the Hydra, Hades, Atlantis or whatever quest the artist prefers while the Hero looks like he's enjoying seeing his teacher face-to-face.
Blast from the Past: Since I learned about Dragon Fire before studying So You Want To Be A Hero, I didn't realize that Bruno the Assassin was a returning character until much later. One possibility is to draw a close up of Bruno's face grinning sinisterly as he examines his dagger, freshly coated with poison. Alternatively, you could draw Bruno clashing with the Hero in Silmaria.
Enter the Dragon: Since Quest for Glory II, III and IV involved preventing an evil force from rising, actually fighting the Dragon in Dragon Fire was a refreshing change. Perhaps you could draw a split screen pic of one of the Dragon pillars shattering on one side and the head of the Dragon, stirring, on the other. Or, alternatively, you could draw the Hero, Elsa, Gort, Toro and Erana/Katrina battling the Dragon.
Peace Returns: Alas, all good things must come to an end. It's rather sad that the series was never continued but at least it ended on a good note in Dragon Fire with saving Silmaria. One possibility is to draw the Hero kneeling before Logos alongside his bride (choices include Elsa, Katrina, Nawar or Erana) as Logos places the Crown of Silmaria upon his head. Or, as an alternate, you could draw Else being crowned while the Hero and his bride (candidates here include Katrina, Nawar or Erana) exchange smiles; the Hero's smile saying 'I'm not ready to retire' and his bride's saying 'Me neither.' If the artist decides to have Elsa be the bride in this context, the Hero should be alongside her as she is being crowned with that 'I'm not ready to retire' look while Else gives him a look that says 'You'll change your mind after I show you up.'
Now, I don’t expect you to do all of these. That would be unreasonable. I just hope that you’ll look these over, see if any look worth doing and get back to me. Thanks much and catch you later.
